Say No To Wrenbury Village Centre Marina

Some brief facts

1. Marinas are industrial.  Boat fitting, angle grinding, engines running to charge batteries, slipways, diesel pumps, sewage emptying all happen.
2. There are existing  marinas in the area with empty berths
3. Boats are easy pickings for burglars, there will be security fencing and lighting
4. If the developer runs out of money we will be left with a big hole in the ground, marinas are basically quarries with water
5. Job creation may not be a result. The season is very short, and other business in the area may suffer such as your local shop and pubs so net jobs may be a loss not a gain.
6. The camp site at The Cotton Arms is well used and a very important asset to the village, part of this will be encompassed into the marina, resulting in a loss of pitches and visitors.
7. The fields are an important area for walkers, pet owners and recreation. They will be lost.
8. 200 boats means a possible 300 or even more cars on a regular basis.
9. The Llangollen Canal is already well known for delays at locks and viaducts. More boats will put off holiday makers from coming to the area
